Distributed Forensic Digital Data Repository
Josefík, Martin ; Burget, Radek (referee) ; Rychlý, Marek (advisor)
This work deals with the design of distributed repository aimed at storing digital forensic data. The theoretical part of the thesis describes digital forensics and what is its purpose. There are also explained Big data, suitable storages, their properties, advantages and disadvantages, in this part. The main part of the thesis deals with the design and implementation of distributed storage for digital forensic data. The design is also focused in suitable indexing of stored data, and supporting new types of digital forensic data. The performance of implemented system was evaluated for chosen type of digital forensic data PCAP files.
MongoDB Support for UnifiedPush Server
A System for a Driving School Trip Analysis and Evaluation
Šoulák, Martin ; Bartík, Vladimír (referee) ; Burget, Radek (advisor)
The objective of this master thesis is to design and develop a real-time storage system for geographic data from driving school trips. The system provides tools for analysis and evaluation of practice trips. This system is an extension of the DoAutoskoly.cz project which is described in the text. The next part contains an introduction to geographical data, spatial data and available databases with spatial extensions. The understanding to spatial databases is very important for the system design, an explanation of a solution for a database layer and implementation of major parts. Solution for a graphical view of the results and possible extensions of the system are described in the last part of this thesis.

Optimization of Processing of Data Files in System DIRAC
Adam, Martin ; Holubová, Irena (advisor) ; Svoboda, Martin (referee)
DIRAC is a software framework for distributed computing providing a complete solution to one (or more) user community requiring access to distributed resources. In this thesis the DIRAC File Catalog (DFC) is extended by adding a DatasetManager module, thus adding support for datasets based on metadata queries. To improve the metaquery handling in the code, a new class MetaQuery was implemented that bundles the handling methods and adds normalization and optimization of the user input. The metaquery language was extended enabling logical operators and parenthesis. In the second part of the thesis the hypothesis that connecting the metadata part of the DIRAC File Catalog to a NoSQL database could improve metaquery performance is evaluated. Several databases are tested and the best performing one is then connected via an interface module to the DFC. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Comparison of Distributed "No-SQL" Databases with an Emphasis on Performance and Scalability
Petera, Martin ; Šlajchrt, Zbyněk (advisor) ; Pavlíčková, Jarmila (referee)
This thesis deals with NoSQL database performance issue. The aim of the paper is to compare most common prototypes of distributed database systems with emphasis on performance and scalability. Yahoo! Cloud Serving Benchmark (YCSB) is used to accomplish the aforementioned aim. The YCSB tool allows performance testing through performance indicators like throughput or response time. It is followed by a thorough explanation of how to work with this tool, which gives readers an opportunity to test performance or do a performance comparison of other distributed database systems than of those described in this thesis. It also helps readers to be able to create testing environment and apply the testing method which has been listed in this thesis should they need it. This paper can be used as a help when making an arduous choice for a specific system from a wide variety of NoSQL database systems for intended solution.
NoSQL databases
Günzl, Richard ; Palovská, Helena (advisor) ; Strossa, Petr (referee)
This thesis deals with database systems referred to as NoSQL databases. In the second chapter, I explain basic terms and the theory of database systems. A short explanation is dedicated to database systems based on the relational data model and the SQL standardized query language. Chapter Three explains the concept and history of the NoSQL databases, and also presents database models, major features and the use of NoSQL databases in comparison with traditional database systems. In the fourth chapter I focus on the various representatives of NoSQL databases, in particular the ones that are most frequently used. In the next chapter, I have taken a practical look at a NoSQL database, specifically Apache Cassandra. I briefly describe the steps required to launch Apache Cassandra and its administration tools. In this practically-oriented chapter, I also show basic operations performed over a sample database using Cassandra CLI, its interactive command line interface. The purpose of this chapter is to make the reader familiar with the method of working with the Apache Cassandra database system and to point out some of its specific aspects. The primary objective of this thesis is to acquaint readers with the most important features and representatives of NoSQL databases and the potential for their practical use.
